One of the most memorable experiences during the last months of my trip (of which I will post more entries as soon as I have some time left, but so far travelling keeps me really busy 😉 ) was for sure the visit of the Angkor archeological sites in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The complex contains so many stunning structures and ruins, an assembly of stones, each of them telling a story reaching back to a time where kings and godkings ruled the empire. A time where the strength and cleverness of normal men resulted in beautiful, impressive monuments that make nowadays visitors wonder how that was possible. How much time, effort and sacrifices had to be made in order accomplish what the people back then did. Continue reading
